- Reviewed in Canada on October 20, 2020Verified PurchaseJust purchased two of these (Red + Black) for my me and my son. Oddly, they were delivered separately a few days apart. Outer packaging arrived damaged on both (a couple of puncture holes). The only damage to the contents was a minor crack on the back of one of the plastic covers for the reclining arm mechanism.
Assembly was relatively straight forward and easy. The only challenging part I encountered was screwing the back into the metal brackets on the base. The brackets will squeeze in on the backrest as the screws are tightened, but initially they are pretty far away and don't allow for the screws to bite in much. It was just a bit awkward trying to hold the back in place while trying to get the screw to bite with the tool they provided. It was much easier using a power tool with a magnetic bit. I think it probably took me 15 minutes to put together. Everything else went together easily.
Material feels good and firm. Stitching looked good on both chairs. Both of these chairs look really nice.
I'm 6' and approximately 214 lbs. The chair is very comfortable and seats me well. I was always worried about the seat widths on these gaming chairs, particularly with the padding that raises on either side. The raised padding isn't super high on these chairs and the width between them is perfectly comfortable for me. My legs rest on them but they are not pressed against them -- I don't feel squeezed or constrained at all. The chair is also pretty deep so sitting fully back it provides support to about an inch short of my knees.
I really didn't think I'd care for the leg rest, but even under my desk, it's actually quite comfortable at times to raise my legs. I'm a little nervous about the strength of this part as it seems like something that would bend over time. I rest my legs on it but I really try to avoid putting any extra pressure on it. It also came with one replacement bracket for under the chair so that had me wondering whether it's a known weak point.
The pillows for the lumbar support and head rest are pretty firm. They can easily be removed if you don't like them. The lumbar support can be easily positioned up or down by adjust the straps up and down the back of the chair. The images indicate that the headrest pillow can move up and down -- and you *can* move it a bit to lift it over your shoulders (it's a bit low for me) -- you can't really reposition it higher or lower and have it stay there. The straps just have enough give to allow you to adjust the pillow behind your neck. If you lean forward, for example, the pillow will move back to its normal position.
The massage pillow is a bit of a joke. Plug it into a powered USB port and it will vibrate rapidly. I found it quite loud and not overly effective for me. I just tucked the cable through the back and behind the chair. I can't say I had any expectations for the massage feature what-so-ever so no surprise or disappointment there.
The chair is capable of leaning/rocking back freely but I find it incredibly stiff in both chairs -- so much so that I would say I can't do it. I think this may be due to the fact that the chair is both deep, and the fact that the lift mechanism is towards the back of the chair.
Arm rests are comfortable for me, but they only move up and down. They are not adjustable forward and back. There is probably about a 1/2 inch of freedom when screwing the arms into the chair to position them closer or further out. If I grab them, I can jiggle them a bit but it is the part that can slide up and down that has a bit of play. The actual arm rest itself is mounted solid and doesn't move.
Overall, I'm so far pleased with these chairs for their middle-of-the-line price. My teenage son is loving his compared to our old basic office chairs.
- Reviewed in Canada on October 26, 2019Verified PurchaseI got this chair to replace an office chair that I had for quite a few years. After doing some looking around online, I settled on this one because it looked good, it had all the features I wanted, it had good reviews and it was a really good price. Something to note on assembly is that the main bolts were not in the box with the other parts but screwed into the bottom part of the chair. Caused me some concern at first when I was laying the pieces out to build it :) The chair was easy to put together and the build quality seems decent. Once I sat in it, I noticed right away that the cushion is firm and that you have lean back a ways before your back makes contact with the chair. Once I got used to that, I enjoyed sitting in the chair for long periods and I never felt cramped or fatigued when finished. Very good chair for the price!
- Reviewed in Canada on September 7, 2019Verified PurchaseTLDR:
I'm 6'6 (198cm) 220 lbs. Chair build quality is not meant to last, it absolutely does not support up to 300 lbs. Buy something else.
Detailed version of my review:
Originally I was very happy with this chair, day 1 & 2 - at least.
After 3 days of using this chair, I can confidently say I am unhappy with this chair. The back and seat of the chair has already begun to deter. I knew from the start that the arm rests were terrible. Both arm rests are just generally terrible for gaming chairs, this would be my 4th, and these arm rests are very low quality, even when working properly.
To be specific about the problems,
Back:
The metal bars on the back of the chair are no longer padded, so much so that they hurt my back now after sitting in the chair for 15 minutes
Seat:
The seat cushion is giving way, as it's uncomfortable and my butt has a bruise on it lol.
Arm rests:
Both are wiggling constantly, it feels as if they're about to fall off of the chair,
Sounds:
Squeaking sounds after 3 days of use, something's not right. My old dx racer doesn't even squeak after just about 3 years of use.
Pros:
Assembly is incredibly quick and easy. Fastest chair build I've ever had. Oh, and the wheels are good, yeah, that's it.
In conclusion,
The chair says it supports up to 300 lbs and the chair has a pretty long back, that's why I bought it.
Height:
It surely doesn't support how tall I am, granted this is a problem I will always run into as I doubt there's gaming chair made for someone that's 198cm (6'5.8).
Yeah, no. It absolutely does not support up to 300 lbs. I'm 220 lbs, 26% under the weight limit, sitting on the chair properly with my feet on the ground. My full weight isn't even on this chair, and it's still deteriorating after 3 days of usage. Granted, I spend literally my entire day on the pc, excluding when I'm at the gym, sleeping or cooking of course.
Maybe about 12-14 hours a day I've spent on the chair. So maybe it'll last a week?
Should you buy it?
I suppose if you're 180-190cm (5'10 - 6'3) , the height of this chair is perfect for you.
To avoid deterioration of the chair, I would guess that you'll have to weigh under 120 lbs to use this chair long term.
Keep in mind on the weight, I am straight guessing. Maybe if I was 180 lbs nothing would have happened for a month.
However, a good/very weird thing to note, my girlfriend is 154cm (About 5'1) 98 lbs and she loves this chair. I was considering keeping it for her even with the existing problems I feel, but even when she sits on it, it squeaks and annoys her.
Regardless, no, I don't think you should buy it. I am returning this immediately.
Directed to the seller:
Personally, I highly doubt there's a large enough portion of the population between 5'10 and 6'3 and under 120 lbs to warrant the quality of this chairs build to remain the same. There's no way this chair supports 300 lbs. Please fix the posting on this item, maybe to 150 lbs maximum? Chairs are supposed to last for years, not weeks or a month or two. As I've simply wasted my time purchasing this product, and it seems quite a few others have the same experience I do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Long term use review. Two purchases. I love this chair!
Verified PurchaseTL;DR: For the price this is an excellent gaming chair that is highly adjustable to allow for comfortable and ergonomic long term use. I'm guessing that some aspects of the chair may not be comfortable for someone 5'11 or taller but it is comfortable for someone with a wide build. More details below.
I just assembled my 2nd Ficmax gaming chair. These chairs are a great value. I first purchased this chair in July 2017, and it lasted me until December 2020 with 8-12 hours a day of use. I am 5'9 and 170lbs with quite wide upper legs and wide shoulders, with a short torso. My legs just barely rub up on the sides of the seat and I am able to spread my legs comfortably. My shoulders sit flat against the back of the chair and are not pushed forward at all. My head rests at the top of the chair just above the pillow in the picture. I can sit perfectly ergonomic in this chair.
Cushions/Pillows: The seat cushion ended up completely flat after about 2 years, but it was still comfortable enough to sit on. The neck pillow sits perfectly on the back of my neck, but depending on your height it might sit in the wrong spot. I noticed that the neck pillow provided with my 2nd chair is a little smaller and not stuffed as full, which makes it more comfortable, however I don't use it unless I am leaning back in the chair, as it pushes my head forward too much. The lower back pillow is terribly firm at first, but once it loosens up it's supportive and comfortable. You can move it up and down easily to adjust for your back. The massage unit is powerful and actually works, but it also makes the pillow even more firm. I removed it from the pillow since I don't use it often.
Foot rest: When my legs are fully extended the foot rest sits on the bottom of my calves. If it was any shorter it would be useless, but in my case it works. Taller people might not be able to make use of the foot rest at all. Laying back in the chair while using the foot rest is quite comfortable but over time one of the footrest brackets did break off. They now include an extra bracket in the box so it must be a common issue.
Arm rests: The arm rests can sit quite low compared to other chairs but I still found them to be a little too high, although they sit wide enough for a larger person. Even on the lowest setting they would push my arms up too much when gaming. I removed the arm rests after a while and this allows me to sit more ergonomically while my hands are on the mouse and keyboard. When not using the mouse and keyboard I found them to be comfortable on the lowest setting.
Assembly: The instructions are clear and easy to follow. Overall the chair is extremely easy to assemble except for threading the bolts into the backrest. It's hard to get them lined up and screwed in, but otherwise assembly is a breeze. I had to get help when putting the chair on top of the hydraulic lift to make it sit flat, as it was sitting on a slight angle on several attempts. The wheels move smoothly and install with a firm push.
Other stuff: The hydraulic lift failed after 2.5 years and will constantly sink unless I get it in just the right spot. I think 2.5 years is a good amount of time considering 8-12 hours of use daily. The rocking feature of the chair works well, but is extremely stiff at first. Over time it rocks back and forward with ease.
I highly recommend this chair and will purchase another Ficmax chair in the future when I need one. Thanks for reading my review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great all-around chair.
Verified PurchaseI read some of the reviews, and was a bit discouraged when I saw a few folks had problems assembling. I decided to order the chair anyways because it was a great deal. As I started to assemble, I was VERY relieved to find that it was SUPER easy to assemble. Very comfy chair, as I quickly fell asleep in it upon finishing assembly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent chair and outstanding customer service from a great company.
Verified PurchaseLet me start off by saying that I had a small issue with the chair, and Ficmax actually cared enough about their product to reach out to me. Their customer service dept is one of the best that I've ever dealt with, and everything is perfect now. I have massive respect for companies that actually care about their product, and the people that buy them.
Pros:
Easy to assemble.
Frame is sturdy and built quite well.
It does look nice, doesn't squeak, and the stitching seems well done.
Excellent material. It's soft, yet strong.
Has lumbar / head support.
It reclines and you can prop your legs up.
The wheels feel very strong and premium.
Cushy padding that doesn't get crushed or lose it's form.
Ficmax... awesome company.
Cons:
The only con I have is the allen key bolts. They always are the easiest to strip, so I just picked up 6 shorter bolts and 4 longer ones that I can wrench down with some blue loctite. Nothing will ever loosen up after this, and it cost about 5 bucks.
From what I've read, most chairs come with these, so it's not anything against the chair or company. You can get them tight, but you just have to be super careful.
-----------------------------------------------------------
I'm perfectly happy with this chair. It's comfortable for long periods of time, sturdy, and has one heck of a company standing behind it.
I wouldn't hesitate buying another chair from these guys. You definitely get what you pay for on multiple levels.
