Chinese Seniors Ambassadors

Volunteer Position

Chinese Seniors Ambassadors will act as a bridge between Chinese seniors and staff. There are a large number of Chinese seniors accessing the DEWC drop-in centre, but there is a language barrier between seniors and staff and other centre users. Chinese Seniors Ambassadors will assist Chinese seniors when they need to voice out their needs within the centre.

Reporting directly to the Chinese Seniors Outreach Worker, the Chinese Seniors Ambassadors will work in collaboration with other DEWC staff to promote integrated services to women.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Supporting Peer Support during lunch time in terms of the needs of Chinese seniors.
2. Translating Chinese seniors’ needs in the drop-in

Qualifications:

1. Fluent Cantonese and/or Mandarin
2. Excellent communication skills required
3. Ability to work within a chaotic environment
4. Women candidates only (Trans inclusive)
