Full-Time Accountant

Company Overview:

We are a real estate development company seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team.

Responsibilities

Create detailed journal entries and post them to the general ledger (GL) to track all income and financial statements and expenses

Assist with year end

Maintain cash flow

General assistance to executive team when required

Manage all accounting transactions

Prepare budget forecasts

Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings and financial statement reporting

Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements

Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity

Comply with financial policies and regulations

Provide comprehensive financial consulting services to the company.

Prepare and manage financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Canadian tax laws and financial policies.

Analyze financial data and trends to support strategic decision-making.

Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and compliance with all relevant regulations.

Work closely with external auditors and manage audit processes.

Report directly to the company’s owner, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.

Work experience as an Accountant

Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Hands-on experience with accounting software

Advanced MS Excel skills

Experience with general ledger functions

Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills

BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree

Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus

Proven experience working in an accounting firm.

In-depth knowledge of Canadian tax laws and financial regulations.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) is preferred.
