美国密西根州最大城底特律(Detroit)北部工业区发生严重火灾，一栋向折扣商店供应廉价商品的大楼发生火灾，可能波及到可燃气体而引发多起爆炸，造成至少1人死亡、2人受伤。

美联社报导，警察局脸书上表示，火灾发生在周一晚上，先是起火，之后引发爆炸，冲击波甚至传到底特律市，房屋的窗玻璃感到一股震动，碎片飞散的很远，一英里外都有发现。警方表示，还不清楚燃烧的是什么，是否造成健康影响，但表示该企业“以库存可燃材料而闻名”，因此呼吁当地居民减少外出，儘可能留在室内。

官员表示，火灾的是Select Distributors公司的工厂，该工厂生产的是廉价的一美元商品。消防员猜测，他们的产品涉及高压气体罐或是丙烷瓦斯，比如廉价打火机、电子烟，打火机燃料等等，很可能先是塑胶类的易燃的商品起火，火势蔓延到高压瓦斯的部分。
